  • "Raspberry Beret" is the first US (and second UK) single from Prince and The Revolution's album, Around the World in a Day, released on 15 May The sound was completely different from any previous Prince track, incorporating Middle-Eastern finger-cymbals, stringed instruments, and even a harmonica on the extended version.
  • “Raspberry Beret” was the first single released from Prince’s fifth album, Around the World in a Day. Originally demoed in , the track was greatly reworked by the time it was released.
  • The Extended remix of Raspberry Beret is flat-out terrible. Basically Prince and co. took the original song and added a terrible intro and outro that sounds like glasses banging up against forks, out of tune instruments (Why does Prince add them in his extended mixes?), a weird harmonica closeout, and Prince screaming and coughing on top of it all.
  • Prince originally recorded "Raspberry Beret" in , but re-worked it with his newly-reformed Revolution backing band, which had just crystalized into what would become the fan-favorite line-up: Brown Mark on bass, Bobby Z on drums, Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman and Doctor Fink on keyboard, backing guitar, and backing vocals.
